by merger of the former
Central London and North East London
Branches.

| Our Branch Membership | ||
| Our
Website The purpose of this site is to give our members the latest information on issues that affect them in the Communications and IT industries and other issues within the wider trade union and labour movements. |
Our new branch has over 4000 working
members and around 500 retired members.
Within the branch we concentrate on recruitment in certain companies so we have members all over England. Click the buttons above for news, safety information sheets, Branch Magazines and links to other sites which the branch has selected which could be of interest to our members. Also for a map of our location. For the latest information see also the links in our "news-ticker" |
Organising for Rights
at Work The
Branch organises and
represents members all across the communications industry. We have
members in
BT (where over 95% of eligible staff are CWU members), Virgin Media,
BSkyB,
COLT, BT Engage IT, Telecity, Orange, XLN Telecom, Cobra and many more.
Membership
is growing as staff see the benefits of being organised in the CWU.
Statistics
show that workers in unionised companies have higher pay and better
benefits.
Union workplaces are also safer workplaces. On
your own you have very
little power to influence management as you don’t get a real
say on issues that
affect you at work. Join the CWU and you won’t be on your own
–joining together
with your colleagues means you can make a real difference to your
working life. By
getting organised you
and your colleagues can work to get union recognition giving you the
legal
right to elect representatives to negotiate on the issues that affect
your
working life such as your pay, benefits, job security, health and
safety, pensions
and many other aspects of your work. Remember
there is strength
in numbers - make sure you tell your colleagues about the benefits of
union
membership. Join the CWU for a real voice at work! You can join the CWU
here - just download the application form and
return it to... ...or call the Branch Office on 020 7633 0080 and ask for Mary |
